Ride through one of the world’s oldest mountain ranges on a journey that blends South India’s raw natural beauty with its vibrant culture. Over 15 days, the Western Ghats become your playground—lush forests, rolling plantations, ancient temples, and coastlines where time moves slowly.

The adventure begins on Goa’s golden beaches before tracing the coast to Gokarna and into the misty trails of Agumbe forest. Pedal past coffee estates in Chikkamagaluru, discover the temple artistry of Hassan, and soak in the regal charm of Mysore. Wildlife moments await in Bandipur and Mudumalai National Parks, where jeep safaris bring you close to elephants, deer, and maybe even a tiger.

The road climbs into the Nilgiris, rewarding you with fresh air and sweeping tea estates around Ooty and Coonoor. A heritage train ride offers a different pace, before the journey winds through Pollachi’s villages, Valparai’s tea-clad hills, and the waterfalls of Athirapally. Finally, it all comes to a close in Fort Kochi, where colonial streets, Chinese fishing nets, and a mix of art and history mark the perfect finale.

Day 1 - South Goa | Arrival in Goa

Arrive at Goa International Airport and meet your Tour Leader for a scenic and comfortable transfer of roughly 90 minutes through quiet village roads lined with Portuguese-style houses, churches, mangroves, coconut and cashew trees. On arrival you’ll check in to a cosy wood cottage set in palm groves beside the pristine beach at Marron Sea View Resort. After you’ve settled, we’ll carry out bike fitting in the afternoon so your ride is comfortable and dialed in. The rest of the day is yours to relax on the beach, wander the shoreline and prepare for the ride ahead.

Day 2 - Gokarna | Cycle along the coast to Gokarna

After breakfast, transfer to Karwar (approx. 1.5 hrs) where today’s coastal cycling stage begins. Pedal through forested stretches, rolling backcountry roads, and quiet coastal paths towards Gokarna, a laid-back beach town steeped in history and natural beauty. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of fishing harbors and ride past groves of coconut, cashew, and mango trees that capture the essence of coastal Karnataka. By afternoon, arrive at your nature resort in Gokarna. Later, step into the town’s spiritual heritage with a visit to the 4th-century CE Sri Mahabaleshwara Swami Temple, an important Hindu pilgrimage site. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful walk on the golden sands of Om Beach at sunset, before gathering for a relaxed dinner at a beachside restaurant.

Day 3 - Kundapura | Cycle to Murudeshwara Temple

Today’s cycling route heads further south along the Arabian Sea, with uninterrupted coastal views on your left. Pass through traditional fishing villages like Honnavar and Manki, alive with vibrant fish markets, quiet beaches, and small temples that remain off the tourist trail. We’ll cross the Aghanashini and Sharavathi rivers, riding a mix of flat and rolling backroads, before stopping at the spectacular Murudeshwar Temple in Bhatkal. Rising 20 stories high, the temple is home to one of the world’s tallest statues of Lord Shiva, seated against the backdrop of the sea. A lift ride to the rooftop offers breathtaking panoramas of the coast and the majestic Shiva statue. Later, we drive crossing the Venkatapur and Chowtani River and enter the gateway of the lush green and biodiverse Western Ghats and wind up our day at an eco-resort.

Day 4 - Koppa | Cycle to Koppa through Ghat Roads

From Kundapura, ride along flat village roads dotted with temples, farms, and small rural settlements before the terrain rises steeply into the Agumbe rainforest, one of India’s most biodiverse ecosystems. Known as the “Cherrapunji of the South,” Agumbe is a prime habitat for the legendary King Cobra. Cycle through winding mountain roads, misty valleys, and stretches of coffee estates as the Western Ghats unfold their beauty. Today’s ride is challenging but richly rewarding, with hairpin bends and panoramic views. By evening, arrive in Koppa, a rural town on the edge of Chikkamagaluru district. Your stay is in a charming heritage homestay with over 300 years of lineage. After settling in, you can choose to go for a  plantation walk.

Day 5 - Balur | Cycle to Balur through Coffee Plantation

Ride through the undulating terrain of Chikkamagaluru, surrounded by mist-covered hills, waterfalls, and dense vegetation. This region, with its rich soils and rainfall, is famously called the Coffee Capital of India, alongside Kodagu. Today’s cycling winds past scenic rivers and through high-altitude plantations before reaching a 400-acre coffee estate at 1,100 meters above sea level. Your accommodation is a company-era bungalow, first established in 1826 during british rule. In the evening, explore the plantation on foot to learn about the region’s coffee heritage and the livelihoods it sustains, before savoring a cup of freshly brewed estate coffee.

Day 6 - Hassan | Cycle to Hassan through Rural Villages

Cycle through Mudigere’s agrarian villages, with spice and coffee plantations forming the backdrop, before pedaling alongside the Yagachi reservoir. The ride leads to Belur, home to the stunning Chennakesava Temple, a 13th-century marvel of Hoysala architecture. Its finely detailed stone carvings bring to life stories from the Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Bhagavata Purana. If time permits, we’ll also visit Halebidu’s Hoysaleshwara Temple, another architectural gem of the Hoysala dynasty. After soaking in this cultural heritage, drive through scenic backcountry roads to Hassan and settle into a rustic village resort.

Day 7 - Mysore | Cycle Off-Road to Mysore

Today’s ride heads east towards Mysore (Mysuru). Cycle through fields of tobacco, sugarcane, and vegetables, past traditional temples and villages, with locals going about their agrarian lives. Ride alongside Krishna Raja Sagara lake, the confluence of the Kaveri River and its tributaries. This fertile river basin also sustains the nearby Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, home to dozens of migratory bird species. By afternoon, transfer the final stretch into Mysore, famed for its regal palaces, gardens, and vibrant heritage. Check into a comfortable boutique hotel to relax before tomorrow’s sightseeing.

Day 8 - Mysore | Sightseeing

Take a break from cycling today to explore Mysore’s 600-year legacy. Visit the grand Mysore Palace, with its ornate Durbar Hall and Golden Royal Elephant Throne. Drive up Chamundi Hill for panoramic views of the city, and stop at the Chamundeshwari Temple and the impressive Nandi Bull statue. Later, walk through the bustling Devaraja Market, alive with stalls selling flowers, fruits, spices, and incense. This mix of regal history and vibrant local culture captures the essence of Mysore, often called the “Cultural Capital of Karnataka.”

Day 9 - Masinagudi | Cycle to Masinagudi

After breakfast, leave Mysore and drive to the edge of the countryside where today cycling begins. The route winds through quiet rural villages, past cultivated fields of rice, millet, and sugarcane. Along the way, see everyday rural life — women working in vegetable gardens, herds of cows and goats, and children waving as you ride past. By afternoon, arrive at Bandipur Tiger Reserve for a jeep safari. Once the hunting grounds of the Mysore maharajas, Bandipur is now a protected sanctuary for tigers, elephants, and countless other species. Keep an eye out for gaur, sambar, spotted deer, wild boar, Malabar giant squirrels, and colorful endemic birds. After the safari, transfer to nearby Masinagudi, where you’ll stay at a cozy forest lodge surrounded by wilderness.

Day 10 - Ooty | Cycle "UP" to Ooty

Today is one of the most scenic and challenging rides of the journey. Cycle uphill into the Nilgiri Hills, passing through eucalyptus groves, pine forests, and rolling tea plantations that blanket the slopes. The air grows cooler as you ascend, with panoramic views of the valleys below. By afternoon, arrive in Ooty, a historic hill station founded during British rule. After checking into your resort, you can opt for a visit to the Botanical Gardens, home to rare plants and beautifully landscaped gardens. Relax with a cup of Nilgiri tea as the sun sets over the hills.

Day 11 - Pollachi | Heritage Train & Cycle to Pollachi

Begin the day aboard the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage “toy train” that winds through tunnels, bridges, and breathtaking mountain scenery on the way to Mettupalayam. From here, start an exhilarating 30 km downhill cycling ride, descending into the plains with dramatic views of forests and valleys. Later, drive through the lush countryside of Tamil Nadu to Pollachi, a tranquil town framed by coconut groves. Your stay is at a serene plantation resort.

Day 12 - Valparai | Cycle through Reserve Forests to Valparai

Start today’s ride through Pollachi’s vast plains, passing Aliyar Lake, coconut plantations, and rustic villages. The route then climbs steeply into the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, with 42 legendary hairpin bends offering spectacular views of Tamil Nadu’s hinterland below. As you ascend, watch for wildlife, including the endangered Lion-tailed macaque. By late afternoon, arrive at Valparai, a misty hill station surrounded by manicured tea plantations. Your accommodation is a colonial-era bungalow where you’ll experience authentic planter life. In the evening, walk through the tea gardens to see plucking and processing, ending with a refreshing cup of freshly brewed tea.

Day 13 - Athirapally | Cycle to Malakapara via Sholayar Dam

Today’s ride takes you past Sholayar Dam and through rolling roads lined with tea and coffee estates introduced by the British in the 19th century. After cycling to Malakkapara, board the vehicle for a scenic drive through the restricted Sholayar forest ranges, a core biodiversity hotspot. By afternoon, reach Athirapally, home to Kerala’s largest waterfall. Witness the thundering cascade as it plunges into the riverbed below, surrounded by lush forests that are also habitat to the majestic Great Indian Hornbill. Overnight stay is at a charming riverside eco-lodge.

Day 14 - Fort Cochin | Cycle through the Countryside to Cochin

Cycle through the fertile Chalakudy river valley, passing villages, irrigation canals, and plantations of rubber and palms. Before the traffic builds, board the vehicle for a short drive to Fort Kochi, known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea.” In the afternoon, explore Fort Kochi’s colonial past with a heritage walk through Jew Street, flea markets, and the iconic Chinese fishing nets. Learn about the town’s layered history as a hub for Arab, Dutch, Portuguese, and British traders. As evening falls, attend a traditional Kathakali dance performance, Kerala’s classical art form that combines elaborate makeup, costumes, and expressive storytelling. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the town’s  local restaurants before returning to your hotel.

Day 15 - Fort Cochin | Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Cochin International Airport for your onward journey. As you say goodbye, carry with you memories of your adventures through the Western Ghats’ diverse landscapes, vibrant cultures, and heritage towns.
